What is TAPLETS? Taplets, Inc. (An Acronym for Teaching All People Literacy Education & Technology Skills) is a  501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization. It was founded in 2003 in Person County, NC because of the concern about the increasing unemployment rate and the lack of proper education in technology-use among low-income citizens. We are also committed to serving the people in adjoining communities.

We have four divisions:

LITERACY

TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION

DIVERSITY EDUCATION

ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION

What was originally established to provide a training center that would educate the disadvantaged on the benefits of technology and give them access to computers has evolved into a far more reaching and elaborate operation. Taplets is now composed of four divisions: Literacy, Technology innovation, Entrepreneurship Education, and Diversity Education.

We aim to provide various classroom and technology-based instruction in basic computer skills, adult literacy, Internet education, word processing skills, entrepreneurship skills, environmental sustainability and diversity education. We are working closely with other local, state and national organizations to cultivate our capacity.

Concerned about the increasing unemployment rate and the lack of proper education in technology among low-income citizens this organization was incorporated on January 28, 2003. Thousands of affected citizens and many of our community leaders have united and joined our efforts to fulfill our mission. Join this coalition. We are working together for a better North Carolina.
